My neighbor has a WW11 vintage Studebaker 2 1/2 ton truck with the old flathead six in it. This one has the square fenders and the cab is pretty straight. There is a an old jammer mounted on the back and a tree growing up through the frame rails. My Dad used to have one that he hauled logs on when I was very young, I remember going for a wild ride in it once when the brakes went out. He just left it in gear and the engine revved up so fast it exploded the distributor. He told me many years later that he would have bailed out but my sister and I were with him, so he rode it out. I would love to restore that truck to driving condition for parades and such, I figure a 300 should power it just fine. Those things had a zillion U-joints, they ran two separate drive lines back from the transfer case to the rear ends. For parade use I should be able to get away with only driving one. Got to get some other projects done first though.
