85 F150 Battery Cables Question

Post #1 by chevyconvert » Sun Dec 31, 2017 10:02 pm

First post here besides introduction.
I tried to search the forum and I googled for hours and ended up with not much more than I started with.
The thing I'm confused about is the negative side of my battery is hooked to the starter solenoid and the positive runs to a junction on the frame then to the starter. Now in my research I've found out that older vehicles had positive ground 6 volt systems but this is an 85 truck.
Has anyone else ever seen this on a truck of this year model? It doesn't seem to cause any issues so I guess it okay I've just never seen this before. I've never really had much experience with ford's older than mid 90's either so as far as I know it could be normal.

Nevermind I figured out that my battery is marked or charged backward. That was a first for me.
