Found one of these bad boys

Post #1 by StarDiero75 » Sun Apr 01, 2018 2:35 am

I found this bad boy on a 55 Ford pickup with a 223. This was at an area that just got bought and the original dude was horder. So these guys bought the land and are cleaning it out. I noticed the truck and asked them if i could look under the hood (i had a hunch) and he sold it to me on he spot for $30. Internally its clean and the base is seized but its in the tank (which is why its not onthe carb in the pic).

Glass bowls on a tri-power set up. Very nice! However, I recall there being something about having to use a certain gasket or you'd end up with a leak down the road. I think it was a member with the screen name 'PowerBand' that may have had a problem.

After talking with my machine shop he said that it'd probably be better to cut 2 cracked heads intakes off and weld those center pieces onto the other sides of the intended use head. That way there wouldnt be leaking probs. Or drill the holes and use the offenhauser setup. Im kinda thinking the welding idea. I got a crazy idea of what i want done and its gonna be neat.
