Engine in truck, torque converter lined up, bolts not coming through flexplate

Post #1 by Asa » Tue Mar 12, 2019 6:30 pm

This is my '93 F150, E4OD.
Got the new engine in, got it settled, I'm fairly sure the stub shaft on the torque converter went into the crankshaft. The two dowels line up, all the bellhousing bolts thread in.

All 4 of the bolts on the torque converter line up with the flex plate. Two of the bolts do not come through the flex plate to allow me to bolt everything together. Its like it is warped.

I've tried everything I can to get it installed with no luck at all.

All The bell housing bolts tight? Many years ago I let a bracket get in between the engine and bell housing and things would not go together right quit for the night and found it the next day easy. Now I check every time I install engines.

Hi, if the new engine had a standard tranny you need to make sure the pilot bushing was removed from the crankshaft. Good luck
B RON CO. Still workin' on it!
