Hey everyone,
I have a 1986 f150 with the 4.9L I'm struggling to get running. Someone scrapped all of the smog stuff, but did a crap job. So I'm in the midst of shifting to a durasparkll system to get rid of the back feed carb and all of the sensors. Any info/advice is more than welcome!

Might want to post this in big six performance section of the forum.
67 mustang,C-4, with mod. 80 hd, custom 500 cfm carb with annular boosters, hooker headers, dual exh.-X pipe, flowmaster mufflers, DSII dist. MSD-6425CL & MSD-Blaster 8252 Coil. Engine 205" .030" over with offset ground crank & 1.65 roller rockers. 9.5 comp., Isky 262 cam.

It does not provide all the details for the Duraspark conversion [much about that using the "search" feature or on the Internet], but it might give you some ideas and hope that it will run well. ... 300-a.html

a duraspark swap should be straight forward.
personally I like to use the HEI trigger in place of the Ford system:
1. it's simple,with less wire,
2. it's unusual, always fun to be quirky
3. it works, very good.
4 just a dist, trigger and a relay
5. sole drawback is that it may provide slower start.but very hot spark when combined with MSD coil or equiv.
a long love affair with the 300 six.
my lastest and final fling is a fresh 300 in an 88 ford f350 dually 4X flatbed
