Ford 250-1v Motor

Post #1 by revolgc » Mon Apr 13, 2020 8:15 pm

I picked up this motor to replace the 200 in my 66 coupe. I have decided to keep my 200 so am looking to sell this one. It's Ford 4.1l 250-1v motor that came out of a 69 Mustang if I remember correctly. The motor ran and did not smoke when it was pulled. $350. I'm in Knoxville, TN.
66 Coupe: Stock 200, daily driver, manual steering, manual brakes, 3-spd. 5 Lug. Scarebird Front Disc Kit. Autocross for fun.

Did you get the mounts?

Super hard to come by.

Sorry, I dont know how many miles and never thought about the mounts. I was planning to buy new ones but did not think about not being able to find them. Seems like I remember something about needing to use Maverick mounts so it would drop the motor some for hood clearance.

Here is a link to the add on Craigslist with a couple of pics. https://knoxville.craigslist.org/pts/d/ ... 33366.html

Looks like you did get the mounts. If whoever buys it doesn't need them you should pull them.

And that engine has a later valve cover, I wonder if it was a later model 250 swapped in at some point? What is the head code? You may want that head if it's a D7 or later.
It ain't gonna fix itself
