A wet sanding with worn 2000 grit will make that grille much more attractive.
Over the years the 62 grille tends to flatten out.
To restore the convex shape I used my bandsaw to cut an oak buck put the curve back in a used 62 grille that I had just bought.
A couple raps with a leather hammer corrected each flattened section of the grille.
I used an unflattened section of old (deer collision) damaged grille for the pattern.
The new to me used grille had a tab broken off.
I cut off the lower section with the tabs of the old grille clamped and polyurethane glued it to the new used grille.
It looks great!
