Head Gasket Observation

While kicking around in my shed today I noticed a potential problem with the head gaskets on my OZ 250 2V head.
I have Mraley's old head. I know he ran it without any problems. However, the head gasket laps into the combustion chamber area. The print from the old gasket show that it was that way on his engine and I have laid two different gaskets on it for comparison and they hang into the chamber about .030 to .045 on all of them. I don't know exactly how I will overcome this small problem, but I will do something to improve it before I install the head.

It is where the chamber wall gives clearence for the valves. I looks like I may be able to slot the bolt holes and offset the gasket about .045 if the other side doesn't move into the cylinder.

I mention this because some members have had gasket issues. I don't have a virgin head to compare to. The machinest may have unshrouded the valves and contributed to this.
