10.6 1/4 mile with a 300 in a maverick

so i go to englishtown (raceway park) on sunday for a nostaglia drag and show. im there with my buddies who all run v8s and there fast all 9-10 second cars and my buddy tells me that this maverick 3 cars over has a 6 in it. so of course i go and check it out. its strictly a race car 9inch rear 4.88 gears C4 trans wit a trans brake and line lock etc. etc. best part is he is running a 300. he custom made the intake himself it had 3 weber 48 ida's on it and they all kicked in at once no progressive linkgage, a vertex magneto and wht looked to be a vaccum booster he had a stock head on it just worked. it surprised everyone @ the track he was also one of the nicest guys there. i went to see him run everytime and it didn't disappoint me. wheel stands everytime and pretty consistent 10.6's i was very impressed and like i said he was really nice and i talked his ear off all day. he is from Carmel, New York. His name is Clem Lachance. His grandson is supposed to email me pictures of the car so hopefully he will and i told him to sign up here and give us some info just wanted to let u guys know i can't think of anything else but if u have any ?'s about it i'll try to answer as best as i can

I need motor mounts. Clifford said big block motor mounts might work. Hmmm. I'm still working on that one. Maybe fabrication is the answer.

yes the MAD FRENCHMAN thats his name good to here someone else knows him i told his grandson to join so he can help give us some info and to make our sixes better. no pics of the car yet his grandson hasn't sent them to me yet i hope to see him again in a few weeks at ATCO for the NMRA meet i tried to talk them into coming. i'll try to keep u guys updated when i get some info and pics.

I also know that the MAD FRENCHMAN runs his maverick at Lebanon Valley Dragway in New York so if anyone lives close to there maybe they could go check him out as well. i might try to go check him out up there but i hear its a pretty far drive from where i am. hopefully his grandson sends me those pics soon i know u guys want to see them.

The 'Mad Frenchman' and his Mav have been around for quite awhile. I've seen his car at Atco(NJ,)Englishtown(NJ,)Maple-grove(PA,)and Island Dragway(N. Jersey,). Is it still Blue & Silver? The last time I did see it,it was 1998. OO6./The-X-Or-Six!

it is black and yellow for the most part. he's been running that car for over 20 years i was told and once @ lebannon he turned it on the roof on the back it says "Aint it enough to make you SIX" also it says "its race time do you know where your HP is?" i like the six one i thought it was pretty funny. but like i said hopefully i get those pics soon if not hopefully i see him at ATCO for the NMRA meet
