Define cheap. What should I expect to pay? Do have another option to getting one?
thanks

Good question, I have never bought one. I would say $10-$20 would be fair, with cap and wires. Check ebay once in a while too.

If you find a "mom and pop" place, or pick-a-part, you should get the whole thing with duraspark box and wiring harness for about $20-$25

A tip on the duraspark: there is absolutely no way to get one new so a junk yard is the only way with the dizzy and its harness, but they still sell the module and it's like 25$ new and you can keep the other one as a spare cause they're so small... I like having the spare so if you see more than one module at the junk yard grab it.

Auto parts stores have distributors rebuilt for $50 with a $10 core - - - "Good used" is cheaper, though.

I would rather just use a GM HEI module as a spare since it is even smaller. It doesn't "plug and play", you have to make a small adapter harness to make it work.

Thanks eyeryone for all your help.
I am blown away by all of you on this site that offer all of this help just to help. The rest of the world could learn something all of you.

I am going to head to the junk yard this weekend and start looking. There is a local yard that specalizes in pre 1980 cars. I plan to start there.
Also does anyone know any thing about Mraley? He has a modefied 250 head and carb for sale that I may be interested in. I'm just cautious about someone I don't know. Sounds like a good deal.

Thanks again,
Dale

He's got dyno results from the car with that head, I believe. Try this topic.

Look up some of his posts to see the level of detail; think he spends first then adds up later.
