Who makes a good rebuild kit for the 1100 and where can I get one? The parts stores around here are staffed by inebriated mollusks.

i looked for a rebuild kit for about two days. i tried every place some said a week to order. go to a palce you trust and ask for everything specific . 1966 ford mustang 200ci 6 cylinder manual trans . thats specific. they are all the same .go to napa, autozone , national auto i knwo they have them

About 2 years ago i went to umm.. it think the place is called Baxter's and they had em in stock. I got it right there. Maybe things have changed.

LOL....

Well, when looking for rebuild kits with these people, you have to maintain one rule: They have to keep their greasy fingers OFF their computer. All good parts stores will have actual catalogs, printed in paper. Ask them to get the carb kit book (yeah, there's a whole book of nothing but carb kits). This may be a Walker, GP Sorenson, Borg Warner, or other catalog. Find the part number you need, and only then allow them to punch the part number into the computer to see where it's at.

That technique works a lot better.

Thanks for the replies guys but none of this seems to be working. I've gone to Autozone, Ceckers, Pepboys, Napa, Carquest etc. I tell them all the same thing. I need a carb rebuild kit for a 66 Mustang 220 manual tranny, 1 bbl manual choke. They all want to know the carb number and go into convulsions when I tell them there is no carb number. I have the carb off the vehicle and have tuned it every which way looking for an ID number. All it says if FOMOCO on the back of the carb (facing the cab of the car) No numbers anywhere. I'm not above being told I'm a dumbass for missing something if anyone can help. Thanks.

you know the number autolite 1100. that number should work also try motor craft. if you want i still have the box of a rebuild kit . i will send the part number off the box . i will be home around 5:30 and will post that on the internet for ya.

trashline, thank you! That would be awesome. Yeah, I told them it was an 1100 but that didn't help. Seriously, if you could post the manufacturer and part number that would be a huge help, I really appreciate it. Matt

sure , not a problem. i told my guy it was an 1100 oem product carb and thats what he needed. but i get all my parts here pretty cheap. if you cant find one let me know and i will order one for you through this guy. that had it that day in two hours. and it was 18 bucks i will just charge you for that and shipping. but first i will get the kit number for ya

You are so right, 901-01 is correct. Sorry for the typeo-o-o-o-o-o-.

No, I thought about it but for the hassle and possible uncertainty involved with something like a carb kit I thought it better to go with an actual parts supplier. And with the recomondation of someone on this site who has actually used it with good results it seemed like a pretty safe bet.
