Could some one respond on this? I am sure it is all here and I have read a lot of the posts pertaining to this subject, but I can't or don't want to see it. Is it a fact that if you wish to convert to DuraSpark 2 You must eliminate the Spark Control Valve vaccum circuit? I have a rebuilt 1101 1bbl from a 223 "the big one that flows 215 cfm". It has the scv right?

Duraspark doesnt tend to respond well if you use the SCV port. Most of the time a non Load O dizzy will respond well to being hooked direct to manifold vac. The factory systems usually ran off a ported port on the carb. Some systems used a thermal switch to switch between ported and manifold vac.

Yup, you need to block off the SCV port on the carb and hook the DS vacuum up to straight manifold vacuum, like right under the carb there's usually a port.

The SCV switches between manifold and ventury vacuum, and it's all wrong for a non-Load-O-Matic distributor.

Okay. Thanks for the answers. Got me thinking its time to go 2bbl. Should I use the port on the log or the carb spacer?
I had a Holley/Weber 2bbl for about a year, then put an 1100 on my stock 200. Can't tell that much difference, actually.

Anyways, either vacuum port will do, spacer or manifold.

Here's a pic from when I had the 2-bbl on, note that I direct-mounted the carb adapter to the manifold and got rid of the ford adapter.

Never mind the image links I'm a caveman and don't get how to post pictures.

No worries. I stick my pics on photobucket, then copy/paste their IMG code in here. I think you can hit "quote" on my above post and see the actual code.
