14'' Air Cleaner

I have after market 14'' air Cleaner the replacment size is 14x2 is there a fram replacment, I went to the parts store and there no help

Some of those things seem to me made so that only 'their' filter will fit and if you can even get the filter it cost almost as much as the whole kit cost to start with. The one I have (daytona brand?) was that way. I just went to a store that didnt complain when I started opening all the boxes on the shelf till I found one that fit. It was smaller than the original and a bit shorter so it looks slightly strange but at least it was not expensive. IIRC it turned out to be the OE one for my car which is a 73 Cadillac. All models should be the same 70-75. If you find a store that stocks one maybe you can test fit it before you buy.

Try 83-86 Cadillac Deville diesel, I think that's it, 14in but about 2 1/2" high. This may help you, but if I'm wrong I'm sorry, (going by memory).

lI went through the same thing...aftermarket air cleaner and no standard ones. The fram one that was close was 2" high and that was a problem.

Just like mentioned before...so I bought 3 filters as spares!

Lesson learned...by cheap and deal with it.

Ok....since I am still in Canada and not home, I can only give you the following suggestion...similar to what I went through.

Measure the OD of the air filter you have. (I assume its 14" or near)
Measure the ID of the filter so you know the thickness.

Measure the height so you know what can be used or whats close.


With these in hand and your tape/ruler, get to the local Autozone, Carquest or whatever and start checking. (Yeah I know its a bummer)

I did also send an email to the tech departments at Fram and K&N with the same info...K&N had one that was very close in OD and ID but was still too tall and way too expensive.
