I have to use a 170 block for my class (HA/GR) but will run the newer '66 and later 7 main bearing block for strength. I'd like to stroke it with a 200 crank. What rods and pistons are used or is it all a custom setup. What rod length? I read something about a 5.4" rod, the stock 200 rod is 4.7 and the 250 is 5.88. So wouldn't something like a stock 302 rod at 5.09 work better with a custom piston?
I will be hard blocking the block to within 2" from the top and run only coolant in that top 2" and the head. So if I have to bore it 60 over there will be no problem with blowby.
