how much larger length,hight etc is a 300 compaired to a 170 :?:

thanks

I don't have the exact details, but going from a 144/170 to a 300 is MAJOR change. The 300 is MUCH larger than the smaller inline 6 family 144/170/200 and even the 250. Nothing is impossable, but I doubt you will ever find a stang, falcon, comet with one in it. I could be proved wrong, as a matter of fact I would love to see someone do it, but I just don't think that it is really feasable.

there are a few out there but it is a big ordeal to get it in there.

thanks just thought it would give me more ops. with things like intake carbs so on 170 head to a tri carb set up?

The 300 is roughly just over 3" longer and 3" taller than a 170/200. It is about 3" wider at the lower section of the block. And about 100lbs heavier. It can be made to fit, but it is not a bolt in. You need some fabrication skill to make it work.

The big issues are radiator and hood clearance because of length and height. You'll probably end up moving the radiator and the hood may need a scoop or dome of some kind.
