Thanx for all the great advice-I will shop around around a little for a 200 ci replacement, however, I am leaning towards rebuilding what I have.

The head/ manifold swaps sound good-are these eBay items? What is the best way to shop for these?

Are you serious re: the 15 degrees initial timing-is this where I should be running my 144 as well (currently have it advanced to about 10 degree)?

Howdy Back Dave:

If I recall correctly (and that's scary!) the stock spec on initial advance setting with an auto is 12 degrees BTDC. How successful 15-16 degrees will be will be a try-and-see proposition. If you have alot of carbon build up, causing hot spots and compression creep, it might be too much.

Make sure the Spark Control Valve in the carb and the stuff in the Load-A-Matic distributor is working properly.

I guarentee you will love the difference in driveability.
