Nice weather today, decided to take the coupe for a drive. All was well until about 20 miles in it was like someone pulled off a plug wire. Limped home, #2 cylinder not firing at all. No spark getting to the plug. replaced plug, wire, dizzy cap, no dice!

Compression is 145, I'm running a petronix 1 with the flamethrower coil, both about 1000 miles old?

Guys, I'm stumped, any ideas?

thanks

BTW this is a 200 with the load-a-matic, with about 3k on a rebuild

I just had the same problem with my pertronix unit. I sent it back and Summit is sending me a new unit. I could also take the magnetic sleeve and turn it a 1/4 turn and the cylinder not firing would move.

durkzz8, good call. Took the magnet off, repositioned about a 1/2 turn from where it was, now #4 won't fire. Not if I can only find my receipt....

well I decided to give Pertronix a call and tell them about this problem. They said that they would look into it.

I MIGHT have an extra magnetic trigger sleeve (or whatever they call it) if anyone needs one to solve this problem. I'd have to look around the garage and see if I tossed it. It came off a `69 200 (P-1261). No charge...just PM me.
