Made a few changes to the car. Jetted down the carb, changed from 4.63 rear gear back to the 4.11

Had the converter worked for more stall. Picked up a bout 500 RPM at brake stall. Near 3100 RPM now, I hope to lower my 2.200 60 foot times a bit. 4.11 gear should let the engine pull through the traps

if weather holds out, I may make a Speedworld AZ trip saturday nite... although ADOT has a few freeways closed again

Is it a C4 with the original converter?
I just had mine tweaked but it's not installed yet.
How much did you pay? Mine was around $150.

The converter is the OEM unit for the C4 trans and use with the 200 cid engine.

Since I work for a converter - transmission company my cost for mods was low. We changed the top to a pinto unit, cut the stator fins a little bit, added in torrington bearings. I hope to foot brake the converter to 3300

I also changed the 2nd gear servo from letter H to letter A . 2nd gear shift was a bit too firm with my full manual shift valve body

I ain't hip. What do you mean "the top", and why a pinto unit? :?:

Torque Converter top is the shell half that is on the trans side. Pinto design has sharper angles that produce higher stall RPM. Less angle produces lower stall

Inside a converter it is all about angles of fins as to how the oil is thrown around inside to drive the turbine and multiply the torque input from the engine.

So how did it run???

My Falcon ran about the same. I have more RPM when the lite turns green. The 60 foot times are down slightly from last trip to the track. I did one 2.18 60 foot time which is the fastest the car has

MPH was down 1 mph from previous track runs. That is weird since I took the 4.63 gear out, re- installed the 4.11 gears. With 4.63 gears the shift lite was on about 300 feet from the end of the track

Mayb I need to reinstall the 4.63 gears and see what happens?

Hey Crosley, didn't see ya last nite. did you go to firebird instead? if so how did the car run?

I did not drive out to SpeedWorld saturday nite, the program as I read it was confusing to me. No time lites? What actually happened out there?

Friday nite I thought about Firebird, the weather was going bad as the sun set, so I stay'd home...

mayb next week.

Crosley they had a "No Prep" nite for the street racers. We had lanes for regular time only cars, a couple for "no time" score boards off but you got only your side of the time slip and then a couple of lanes for the serious grudge racing group ( basicly they were able to bring their own prep and set car lengths, flag start if they wanted. We ended up with around 180 cars last nite.

Good to hear they had many cars out there.

I made a couple more small changes to the 1962 Falcon.

Installed a electric water pump drive. Moroso type, a used unit I bought on eBay. A simple install on my car, drilled 2 holes and then wired it up on a switch.

Also found a p/steering pulley that would fit the alternator , so that was installed. Not the normal large pulley as seen on most p/s pumps. This pulley is about 5 inches in diameter.
