All Small Six 200 Cylinder head question inline6

This relates to all small sixes
Good day all,
I have a 1966 mustang 200ci inline 6. Took the Cylinder head off , took it to a well know machine shop in Decatur, Il. Magnaflux shows a serious unrepairable crack thru the intake around the head. It is a C6DE-6090-B. I found a 1967 head with a casting number of c8de-6015-b can I use this head on my 1966? FInding a heck of a time finding a reman head anywhere.

Thanks in advance

Are you sure that the head casting number is c8de-6015-B that dosen't seem to be right for a cylinder head I think that's a block casting number,.

Hi, any six cylinder head will fit, but some major differences over the years include two different carb opening sizes, and combustion chamber size, There are other differences, but I think are less important. Assume any head has been rebuilt, so I would cc the combustion chambers on both heads so you don't mill too much off it. I have seen the heads have crack issues above the 3-4 exhaust ports before. Check the new head carefully before you machine it. Good luck

scroll dwn to "Casting #s"

they ARE repairable. Cost is a consideration.
Buy new from Jegs ($300?) or used from mailing junk yards/close auto recyclers.

"...I think are less important...."
log volumn, valve sizes:
