200 in a hot rod help!!

hey everyone!! i have been building a hot rod with a '79 200 that i put in with a c4...now i am having issues with the car getting spark...it cranksover but the distibuter isnt geting power...i have the duraspark box mounted and all that but im not sure as how its all to work,,which wire powers the box??..which color wires go to the coil??...i didnt take the engine out so i dont know where its all to go and what wires do what,,any diagrams [heck even a hand drawn diagram will do]...i do have power to the possitive on the coil,can i cut into one of the 3 wires that goes to the distributer and run power that way,,???if so which color is the power wire?..ARGHHH!!! HELP....THANKS CRAIG
 
anyone have a link showing how the g.m distibuter works in a 200..
 
I like the GM module with the DII distributor. It's cheap, easy, and cheap. Did I mention cheap and easy?

One thing missing on this diagram. Run the black wire from the distributor to ground. Make sure the module is grounded and that you use dielectric grease when you mount it. It will get warm, so put it on a sheet of metal or on the firewall or fenderwell.
 
thanks evryone i got her running and i drove it for the first time since i started the build in october,,
 
you don't actually have to use the DSII module for it, it'll work just fine with the ignition control module for a GM HEI thingie
