Hey guys...still not much going on due to $$$...lack thereof. Still got the house but it's been a character building 12+ months.
Like I'm the only one ha-ha. Anywho...saw some pretty cool videos on log mods...and since it doesn't cost anything to chop one up I figured I could take out my FRUSTRATIONS on it....in a controlled manner. The scrap pieces will be used for practicing my cast iron welding with an old Henrob torch. Will probably install short tubes to a flange and then go from there. Just something to do to keep my mind and hands busy till better days slap me upside the head : )DSCF5499.JPG

Well, you’ve got my interest. I’ve seen some pretty neat mods that go straight up and mate 3 down draft 2 barrel carbs (Weber 38/38). I think that could be set up quite effectively. Removing that big log will probably reduce the heat around the carb too. Maybe a heat shield that deflects heat from the exhaust could be incorporated into your design too.

... if you can 'practice' with the Henrob, there's most anything you can do with the cut-off area.
.
always liked the box plenum - with a square bore 4Bbl flange to make carb/FI swaps simple ...
.
equal length tubes to a carb or turbo flange could be most effective ...
.
still have to consider fitting fab' in and under hood...
.

have fun
