Has anybody used the Pistons that allow you to use 200 rods in a 250 block?? and does aybody know of a reliable engine builder in Melbourne area??

Thanx

I been thinking about this option alot recently. ACL make them about $380 with rings Aust. You can buy the lower 10.1 comp ones but is really still too high for most users then costs about $20 a piston to machine top to remove about 1mm max from piston to get around 9.5 comp (dont like compression plates). I would still prefer a bit lower from some of the suggestions that have been made.
It ends up being a bit risky and expensive (unless you have a serious cam). For rpms under 5000 rpm I just dont think its worth the money and trouble.
If budgets not a problem may be OK, should be a bit smoother even under 5000 rpm. I cant say If you would notice or not.

talk to the guys at duggan engine machinin, on Newlands rd in reservoir, they know crossflows and are great engine builders.
