2100 Accel linkage Adjustment

I have a manual choke 2100 with the 1.02 venturi that I will be using to start my new engine. When the accelerator is rotated through its travel the Accel Pump lever and rod doesn’t move much.

The mechanical operation of the Accel Pump lever and rod are connected to what is identified as the Accelerator Pump Over Travel Lever. There is also a spring called the Over Travel Spring that does not require any special instructions on adjustment during reassembly.

The question is, how do you know before trying to actually squirt fuel with the accel pump, how much movement should be seen in the lever and rod ect?

I am afraid that there is not enough movement to actually receive that needed squirt of fuel.

Has anyone gone through this?

Thanks, Ric.

No, there is not a lot of movement on the lever. Although I have never used a 1.02, it is identical in design to the 1.08s, 1.14s, 1.21s, 1.23s and the single 1.33 2100s I've used. the 1.02 is rated at 240 CFM.

I believe the 1.02 was used on the early 260 V8 engines. They have a relatively strong vacuum signal and an annular discharge venturi booster.
All good for a mild 200.

If you're rebuilding the 2100, and you should, the instruction sheet will give settings for many applications. As you read through the options you will note that most are similiar. I start with the hole position setting that is most commonly used and tune from there.

This may be the simplist carb to rebuild and tune ever. Good luck.

Thanks, David.

I chose this car because the 1.02 is the same as the 4100's primary. My plan is to convert to the 4V once the intakes become available or I build my own.

I suspected the movement was small. All the other Autolites I have operate the same, even the 4V.

Thanks for the input, Ric.
