223 vintage performance manifolds

Who made intakes and exhaust manifolds for the 223 in the 50's and 60's? I'm aware of Fenton,Offenhauser, and Nicson. I think I may have stumbled upon a Edelbrock one but I'm waiting for part numbers to verify. I was not aware Edelbrock made these but if it's legit I cant wait to get it in my hands.

Picked this up today. Mostly for the carb linkage but I may run it.

That's a really neat piece! It looks like a better design than the common Offenhauser manifold. Can you tell how the exhaust heat is distributed, or whether the opening between the two sides of the manifold is restricted in any way?

It appears that it might have the flange on the bottom to bolt to the exhaust manifold as OEM. Hope 62bigwindow posts some better pictures of it after arrival.

Here's a few pics.

I have 2 Fentons,1 Offy and the Edelbrock now. I'm going to sell off a couple of them if anyone is interested. I dont need 4 of them and I'd like to see someone else get some use out of them.

Please PM me with photos and prices for the intakes you want to get rid of. Unless they have all been snatched up already

Offy is still making the 2 X 1V carb intakes and linkage sets the last time I checked. Any of the 2 x 1V Carb intakes is a big improvement over the stock 223 intake manifold giving you much better fuel distribution. Many of the old timers claimed that besides having more power they could also get better fuel economy too, they use to use the solid linkage so that both carbs worked together. I believe this claim has some merit just because of the Carb’s better placement, it would be interesting to see this tested out.

In my opinion the Clifford Ram Flow intakes with their much longer port runners were the best designed of any other intakes. They had them in a single 4V intake and 2 X 4V intakes. The duel is still being made last I checked in a complete kit buts quite pricey. I don’t know if the single 4 V that i had is still being made, Clifford back in the day also made some very nice long tube headers that I also had. Best of luck
