anyone have or know where to find a std 250 2v air cleaner housing? if so how much do they go for??

cheers

p.s
can you get a 2v factory sticker kit?

i did have 1 once but it had been drilled out around 30 holes through it so i tossed it.should have kept the fu*ker but cause i haven't see 1 scince.the stickers try ford muscle parts etc they have heaps of stickers.good to see you went the 2v

bugger about it being full of holes, but could of been repaired i guess! oh well :(

they are hard to find, ive been to 2 swap meets now (one at cessnock, huge meet) and nuffin, did they all just float off into the wind or something??!!!

dunno if i will actually use it but still be good to have

yeah there hard to find alright,if you find 1 buy it straight away don't think about it cause someone else will buy it for sure.my mate had 1 on his original xy gs also had the factory toploader and twin exhaust, they sound unreal with a twin system!!!

they came out with a twin system?! i never knew that! man im keen to hear that sound now!

as with the air cleaner, ive asked heaps of ppl and with no luck at all.... sad really

yes they came from the factory with a twin system(as did the 6pac r/t chargers).not many people know this and think they have just been hosed of by a v8,but no xy and xa gs falcon that were factory fitted with a 250 2v had a twin exhaust!!! i peosonaly think there a realy good combo

Since when did 2v's in xy's come from the factory with twin pipes :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Your dreamin :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

   More HP & better sound with single 2 1/2" mandrel bend system & GOOD quality turbo muffler

you better go do some homework before you go mouthing off about something you cearly have no idea about! and as for you thinking a single 2 1/2 makes more hp than a twin system your wrong again,a twin system will always make more power than a single.most people fit single systems because most cars tend to have fuel tanks etc on 1 side of the car which makes this very hard.you obviously have never seen a early gs falcon?i think you better go and do your shift at mcdonalds(im guessing your only 17),while your at it you better borrow your mums corolla cause you have no clue lmfao.

Bone stock '71 XY GS

Count the pipes.

Oh, I'm about to be (17×2), and my mother has a Corolla, but would prefer my XM wagon.

mate i have a set of 2v extractors in my shed that came off a xy gs 250 2v and they aint like yours(i have owned 4 250 2v's and this set of extractors came from a 1 owner car that was written off).looks like yours have been either (a)modified or (b)repaired.yes i have had a close look at yours and they just don't look right(no 6 pipe).this will be the last reply to you so i'll leave it at that for this subject.

I bought a sticker for the aircleaner from FOMOCO.com.
It has 250 170HP on it.
These guys have nearly everything.
I spke to them 12 months ago about the aircleaner stickers and they got them in about two months ago. At $6 each they're a steal.
As for the exhausts I had an XY 2V that was stock standard and it did have a twin exhaust on it. I also had a friend with one and his was the standard single exhaust. May be it was an option or they were fitted by the dealers.

thanks mate good to see i have some one on my side.maybe they were an option, but they did have them.

Old man here,
Back in the old days, when I was just a lad!!!!
The XYs and XAs were trade ins at the dealers for the new XBs.
All the 250 2Vs in XYs or XAs. Had a factory single system.
Many,if not most had aftermarket twin exhaust systems.
But they were not a factory or dealer option.
Ford didnt stuff around trying to get a twin system option unless it was a bent 8.

I find all this stuff a little funny. I used to work with collectable musical implements and the details people would misguidedly swear black and blue on, amazed me. I have no misplaced ego, or axe to grind. This is about what I've seen.

Provenance is impeccable on that one. Often getting under a car is all that's required (check the muffler hanger brackets).

The car that motor came from, had about 70 000 miles on it. It ran the original carb, heat tubes, everything. Head never off; under the valve cover was like new. I made a point of photographing the OEM part number plate welded to the tube. The headers had been removed, patched up and refitted. They then rusted out again (some holes are visible). Their metal was so thin by that stage, I could crush it with my hand.

FYI, the car is/was with a paint & panel customiser in Bucketty who's fitting some US tudor doors and a little other work. Motor was replaced with a 351 (yawn). Owner is a guy called Brad who runs a sheetmetal roofing supply place on the Central Coast. I now have the original 3 speed all-synchro box for my wagon!

Thirty years ago vs thirty-three... It could seem a tough call. Who could pick the tidy work of a gun welder replicating an E49 setup, with 30 years of usage, grime and over-repairs? I'm not saying they NEVER came with duals, but this one was ALWAYS single.

So, are we going to argue cams, too? (I dialled the lift while I was at it - stock as they come.) Batey, I'll see if I can get the aircleaner off the present owner.

Cheers, Adam.
