I have an XP falcon that currently has a near standard 221 and auto and I am hoping to change over to a 250. Should I use a pre-cross flow or crossflow (either way I want to run a 4 speed manual). I would like a quick car and intend on taking it to the drags regularly and it will not be a daily driver. I already have a 2V head and I am hoping to use an XE V8 radiator that I also have. Which motor will give the most power when rebuilt and modified (I am very interested in the 200 rod conversion) and I would like to run unleaded and electronic ignition. Does anyone know if the crossflow will fit in my XP with a four barrel manifold (or even tripple webbers) and I assume that custom extractors will be needed for the crossflow. I realise that the pre-cross flow will be easier to fit, but are there more benifits in using a crossflow (out of an XF). Thanks for any help.

A crossflow XP would be something a little different and you will get more power out of the crossflow NA over the pre crossy.
But getting an old pre Xflow to boogie is a sweeter achievement and if you go all out on either motor the HP difference wont be heaps, mostly depends on how you gear the rear end and which 4 speed you use.
Youll have trouble fitting in tripples on the 2V alot easier on the crossflow and i rekon the clearence would be better with the pre crossy but if its mostly a drag car then cut a hole in the bonnet.
Im old school so go the 2V :D
