250 head with removable intake?

a few of my friends in my metal shop class came across a 1978 f150, with what they say is a 250 (not original engine). the head is, if i remember correctly a 94/F4 casting, fuel injected, and the intake bolts off. i had thought all 250 heads came with a non-removable intake, but is this different on the newer engines, or is it a 300/240? thanks for the help, and i can get more details on tuesday when i go back to class.

They are looking at a 300 engine. The 250 was never used in trucks, and stopped production in 1980. It also never had a removeable intake.

250 Crossflows were OEM fitted to a few RHD Broncos and SWB F-series here in the late '70s/early '80s. AFAIK, they were all carby. I concur it's unlikely to be other than a 300.
