Yes, you can put the intake valves from your '77 head into your '73 head. The exhaust valves will be the same size. The heads are very similar in appearance and dimensions. The big difference is the size of the intake valves and the later head will have hardened seats. The '73 head may have induction hardened seats in the exhaust side only. Probably cheap insurance to have hardened inserts installed while fitting the valves.
The D3DE heads came with several casting suffixes. The most common seems to be "AA".
