250 power steering bracket work on 200?

Howdy all,

Question in mind, will the bracket off of a newer 250 fit my ' 73 200. The altenator is also attatched to this bracket, but I was going to cut it out and just use it for the power steering pump, keeping the altenator on the right-hand side of the engine. I think it should. Also, shouldn't lose too much HP running ps, huh?

I don't think so.
I tried to use a 200 bracket on my 250 motor when I put it in my 1981 Mustang & it didn't work.
I had to go & get an older ps pump out of a Granada to make it work.

You say that the alternator is also mounted to this bracket, that must mean that that motor originally had an Air Cond. compressor mounted on the other side.
Usually the alternator & ps pumps are on opposite sides of the motor.
