A few interesting figures directly from Australia Wheels magazine original road tests. Also posted in Aussie six section:

1971 Ford Falcon, weight 1373kg (3003lb), engine 250 2V six , Carb 2bbl Stromberg, comp 9.3:1, HP 170 at 4600 rpm, final drive 2.92, gears 4 manual, tyres 185/14,

Which ever way you look at it the old 250 2V stacks up pretty well when compared with the others. All figures considered even the 290 HP auto Fairlane (not manual like others) which I put in because of its high HP rating compaired to the 170 HP of the 250 2V.
