I ordered a 264/264-110LC cam from Classic Inlines and got the 302HP springs to go with it. Now I'm not sure about my choice in springs. The machine shop had me check on the installed height, and as I was doing so, I actually saw the coil bind information.
The valve spring tech page lists the 302HP springs as having a coil bind of .480 if I'm reading it correctly. The cam has a lift of .450/.450. The tech page says maximum valve lift is coil bind minus 10% or 0.050 min. So that gives a maximum valve lift for the springs of .432 or .430 using the 0.050 min spec. That's less than the cam's lift.
So, am I missing something here or is this going to cause issues?
Edit: This valve spring tech page: http://classicinlines.com/springs.asp and I'll be using factory non-adjustable rockers for now.
