Hey fellas, just wanted some info on the non xr6 4.0l heads. How big were the combustion chambers in those sucka's? Been runnin a turbo on one for a bit and the bottom end has given way, need to know what the chamber cc's are for pistons for the rebuild.
looking at boring 0.6mm and fitting 15cc dished 3.9l 40 thou over pistons but i still think that'll only keep me down to around 9.3:1 which is iffy on 4psi boost next option is BA xr6t pistons and rods but they dear

Cheers for any info

Got an old CD and a syringe?

Here in the USA, AOL sends a free CD-ROM with the latest version of AOL on it, direct to our mailboxes, every couple of weeks! (they also make great coasters so your drink doesn't ruin the finish on your table)

Smear a thin film of grease on the head gasket surface and also under the face of each valve (to seal them) and "stick" the CD to the grease. Then use the syringe and a mix of diesel fuel/trans fluid to measure the cc's of the chamber.

Thanks linc's, this was my next option but i thought surely someone out there in the big world of ford I6's would know what it was. i'm hoping for atleast 70cc's and considering its 41 cu.in per cyl i think thats a reasonable assumption. heres hoping anyway
