Greetings All-
Trouble with my 66 Ranchero 200cid motor with a C4. My #6 cylinder is fouling out. We can travel about 40mph with no problems, but forget the freeways. No visible smoke during operation, a little at startup. Wet Dry comp test shows #6 is a bit lower pressure than the rest, but not massively (10-15 lbs). Any suggestions? I've been told it could be the rings or valve seals. Gotta love the neighbor "motorheads." :? .... it could be cancer or it could be a cold. The trans shop said it is not the modulator backing up through the vacuum line.
My IRS refund check is on its way and I want to fix this soon. Thanks!

PS, Harleys I know, Ford sixes I don't!

Dave,
Bought a 63 Ranchero with a 68 200 in it. The individual told me the #4 cylinder plug fouls out from time to time. After I pulled the head, I found the top ring was broken and riding. Unfortunately, it was that way for some time and left a ridge. With the lower compression, that just supports the fact.

all my plugs foul out in a month ges all my rings are bad :? :)

Thanks for the tips guys. Guess I'll pull the head and take it to my favorite head shop.
