60 F100 update.

Just put the 3.50 pumpkin in the rear end. The good: I can now keep up with freeway traffic. I have no idea what my cruise speed is, the speedo still reads 50-55 but now I'm keeping up with traffic and my engine doesn't sound like it's straining at all. I really need a tach. The bad: the pinion seal is leaking. Also I kinda miss the 4.11's when I start out in first but overall I am very happy with the change.

So far I have up-graded to disc brakes, rebuilt the head and now the gearing. Next is either the Patriot headers or the 300 electronic ignition upgrade. I will post results.

I would say you will need to change the speedo gear in the trans with that much differance in gear. I use to use the mile markers on a straight section of road holding at steady 60 mile mph for 60 seconds = 1 mile and check for about 5 miles should get you in the ball park.

Use a GPS. They have a setting to read out speed.
