A/C Bracket & Newer Compressor

Someone on one of the forums made a custom bracket or found one sold by a vendor to be installed using the power steering holes on the driver's side. Has anyone here done this for a 6 cylinder?

Also, what lightweight compressors are available besides Sanden? What specs are needed to select one?

Well, I made some headway. I was directed to an A/C supply store in Phoenix. There is a mounting bracket for the Sanden compressor whcih holds it. What is now needed is to fab an "L" shaped bracket that mounts to the power steering holes in the side of the bloc. This will hold the Sanden mount in place.

I examined the holes in various blocks that I have and noticed that there are different configurations. Some have 3 hole and another had only 2.
On one of the blocks, there is an additional 4th mounting boss drilled out down low near the pan.

For right now: here is a pic of the mount(Cost:$60)

that bracket would attach to another bracket which used the power steering holes.

if you have a pic of the power steering bracket, please post it.

I have been holding on to this bracket in case I ever try and install a Supercharger. Is this what you are looking for? It is labeled 6 cyl. P/S bracket.

Here's a setup recently sold on Ebay for $130.

I used a '67-'68 front bracket, mount, & pump; and had a rear bracket fabricated for my '66 block:

That arm coming off of the block is basically what will have to be fabbed to accept the Sanden mount but with obvious mods. I looked at where to place the compressor so that it would not interfere with the dizzy and the hose. The placement would have to ba either away from both towards the inner fender assembly or up high. The Sanden mount has slots horizontally for belt tension. There would need to be another set of holes fore and aft in the mounting arm for proper alignment of the belt.
