A Couple of Stupid Questions

Ok..I just need to ask these questions..Sorry

On the exhaust manifold seal does the silver side go facing outward correct??

On the side of the Iline 6 200 there are 2 sending units. One at the back on the head and one on the same side but on the block. Can someone tell me what they are and which location. I am sure one is oil but need to get

Silver side out on the exhaust gasket.

Smaller, temp. sender is on the back of the head & the larger, oil press. sender is down on the engine block.
