Air Conditioning

Hi, All
I purchased under dash air conditioning kit from Nostalgic Air Two months ago. And finally I fond time to place rsister, condenser, and compressor on places. Now, I know I have to make a couple of holes on fire wall, and I want to make them as close as factory would have done.
How should I route hoses? Passenger side or Driver's side?
Does anybody have pics?
Where should I drill the holes on fire wall?
How about hole of drain house?

I want to finish this project before summer ends.
Thanks in advance

Since you already have holes from the existing heater fan and heater hoses, I'd use those and just seal it up around them. Since the compressor is on the passenger side, it will be a natural route.

When I put A/C in my old truck, I used a polished bulkhead plate with 4 connections (2 heat, 2 A/C). That way, i could easily make my turns via 90 or 45 deg. fittings off the bulkhead inside the cab to hit the evaporator box connections. If you just run the hoses through you may have difficulty making the turns needed.

There is an oval "knock-out plate" in the firewall. You can cut out the knock-plate and install the factory grommet and and seal assembly. It is oval with two holes for the hoses. If you look at some parts catalogs, there will be pictures of the firewal grommet & seal assembly, and it will be clear what I am talking about and where it is located. Likewise, there is a similar oval "knock-out" on the radiator suupport to pass hoses up to the front mounted condensor.

yeah 63droptop, i too want to use a bulk head connecteor but they are so much $$$. Any cheap buys you know of?

The holes for the A/C unit are already in the firewall, on the drivers side. It will have either a knock out, or a cover with two screws. Most aftermarket kits include the cover and gromet. If not you can buy them from most any mustang shop, like Mustangs Unlimited.

As for how to route the hoses, the are a few pics in my photo gallery that might give you an idea. Just depends on where the compressor is mounted.

Thank you everybody.
I got the idea where the hoses go in the fire wall now. and I think that I need to buy a gromet.
As far as hoses route goes, Mike's photo gallery shows that I should go around passenger side because my compressor is underneath of the altnator.

I hope we still have long hot summer left after I finsh this!
