No block plate yet. Hasn't been tested on my X-flow yet. Nothing I do gets realeased untill I've tired to destroy it
drag-200-stang had one on his 450 hp turbo Mustang, so strength won't be a problem.
The idea is to make sure any Ford I6, x-flow or otherwise, can run good old bullet proof US gearboxes. Things like the V8-spec T5, AOD, C4, C5, C6 or FMX without having any hassles at all.
I'm looking at February 2005 before I send the first one to Dave. A year late!. Unlikely to have anything before then. Once that is sorted, I'll consider my options, but as everyone knows here, I'm slow but sure with any new item. Don't hold your breath! After the block plate, I'm onto a turbo exhast for Evan.
Until then, your only sensible option is looking for the old C4 cast iron bellhousing, or prepaying the base rate for a new alloy bellhousing to fit the C4 from Australia.
Your about the fifth person to ask. If all the potential stateside x-flow owners got together an order to have Dellow Australia make up new alloy bellhousings, then the stock American C4 would only need a bellhousing and Aussie 160 teeth flywheel to run. Every one here is looking at going to stronger six cylinder combinations these days, and the old Aussie Borg Warner transmissions just are not strong enough to cope with America.
That's why I prefer block plates. It simplies everything. US V8 gear throughout!
There is the option of a cheap Toyota Celica/SupraXX 5-speed with a CRS adaptor. See
http://www.rodshop.com.au/transmissions.htm, and phone about AP 7 Toyota 4 & 5 sp box to Late Falcon 6.
Or the Mazda 5-speed used in some F150 trucks
AP 68 1989 onwards Ford 0509-Mazda T3500 to Ford 250 (pre EA, x-flow).
