Another Carb Question....

Does anyone know if the later model ford 1 barrel carbs, like off a fairmont or similar will bolt up and work ok with the linkages?

I'm looking for an easy fix to upgrade my 66 200 Cyl. I was going to order a new one form pony carbs and got as far as giving my CC for ordering, however they didn't want my old carb since it doesn't have an automatic choke for core. The grand total with core and shipping was 431.00 YIKES!!!! It all started with 189.00.

I found a Carb off an 82 Ford, I'm assuming a fairmont. The part number on it is Champion 6-425. It's listed as a Holly....Does anyone know if this will bolt up without any hassles.......Thanks.

intake bore is different...your 66 is 1.5 inches...the other is 1.75

many ways to fix that though...

Unless you're mad keen on a faithful restoration, that $431 is better spent other ways. Too much for your nominated application.

Expect any carb transplant to have some "teething" issues. But for $(431-189), you can overcome a lot of them!
