I know it's simple (fairly) math, but I bet he just snaps it out of his head!

The information is alread here on the forum from kastang and Mustangaroo. The 2V head, exhast, carb with the stock came gives over 105 hp at the rear wheels. The engine is very 'cam limited'.
The bigger head with the stock 2 stage auto will be no worse off than with the old log head in terms of off the mark acceleration.
When you add a cam with more duration and fail to add a ratio, it just dies. If you were able to build it like a power glide and a set of 4.11:1's, it would be okay, but not with the stock slush box and 3.5:1, sorry.
The 264/274 needs the 3.5:1's, and I don't thinks it is workable with the tall first of the stock 2-stage. Driving an over tall first gear with a stock converter and a wild cam is not an experience anyone will enjoy.
Adding the three stage will turn it from a undrivable mess to a real nice machine.
Okay, 105 rwhp (141 hp/105 kW net) with a stock 8.5:1 compression Mustang, and with a cam, there is another 25% or more power . That's 175 hp/ 130 kW net. That's with the cam phaseing, mixtures, plugs and ignition sorted.
With only 2650 lb (1200 kilos with the rider included), then you have a 15.7 sec machine. With an agressive shift kit and maybe a 2300 rpm stall, you'd have low 15.2's.
