I'm in the middle of building up a 200 for the mustang. I just finished installing the valve train and started thinking about valve adjustment. The ideal set up is to have the push rod centered in the travel of the lifter. We have done this by adjusting until the push rod stops spinning then give the adjuster another 1/2 to full turn. So I started thinking what about using a dial indicator and measuring what the travel is on the lifter then setting the adjustment to the halfway point. So far I'm seeing around 0.200 to .0250 of lifter compression/travel. So I'm shooting for 0.100 of lifter movement.
