Any Experiences with Holley-Factory Reman Carbs?

Hello again,

I have decided to just try placing a whole remanufactured carb into the 61 Falcon Futura with the 170 due to the fact that many of the parts were badly worn and the carb had improvised bolts and screws that had been replaced over the years. One possibility is the remanufactured 1908 carb from Holley. Does anyone have any experiences with how Holley does on their remans?

Thanks!

I got a holley reman Carter YF for my '70 maverick from autozone I think it was... and well it wasnt any better than the one I had on it before, which I rebuilt. The biggest problems I had were cold starts and Idling.. and well the ignition solved that problem more than the carb. So, personally, I'd try to find another carb without the "custom" screws and all and rebuild it, cause the reman I got was around $150 and I regret every penny of it

Personally, I wouldn't buy one. I've sold a few ( I work at an AutoZone) and maybe two or three haven't come back. I sold one for a Ford 360 and the next day the guy brought it back because the float was full of gas. I would either rebuild the carb, or buy brand new.
