Looking to borrow or rent a cam bearing tool from someone in the Houston Area. Either that, or a machine shop that could install the cam for me.

Thanks,

Jason

I think any of the Autozone, Advance or O'reilly's parts store chains rent them, you might check with them.

Did you ever get the cam install tool?

If you can't find an install tool, one option if you know a machinist (or someone who has a lathe) - I have a lathe but I would not insult a machinist by implying that I am one - is to take a cam brearing to him/her and have them machine an install tool out of plastic. I did that for one of my 6 cyl engines, can't remember if it was for the Falcon or the Triumph. Basically a piece of plastic bar stock, bar OD just under the bearing OD with a step in it for the bearing to slide onto. Also, if you know a woodworker with a wood lathe, they could turn you one out of a hardwood - instead of using plastic.

If your desperate I can look to see what engine I made the tool for.
