Any Real Problems With This?

Me again,
Would I experience any real problems installing 2-1/2" pipes and mufflers on my 200 6? I bought a 6 into 2 header from Mike and can get a real good deal on a 2-1/2" pipe/muffler set.
I know it's not recommended but are there any REAL problems with using this size pipes?
Also, is an H pipe desireable or not?

the bigger ya go ,, the watter will bild up in it n rust ,, if ya always run a long time it drys out n is not that big of a prob ,, im running 2.25 n they soung great going on 6 years now ,, i think the cliffy coated header will rust out first tho

8) for dual exhaust 2 1/2" pipe is a bit large, but otherwise no problems using them.

Yep, I'd go with 2" or 1.75" myself. You need to keep that gas velocity up!

I understand. However, I am saving close to $150 by going 2.5" and finding 2" dual kits are difficult. I could get a custom job done but like I said, $150 will buy a little extra gas, clutch, ect.

Thanks for the feedback!

I understand, economics dictate a lot of what I do as well.

Craig, you really need a 2" exhaust system.

Your engine is close to stock & you will hurt your low end torque with a 2 1/2" system, spend the money & go 2" with a crossover or an X pipe especially if your muffler choice is loud. The crossover & X pipe cut the drone or resonance plus offer more the exhaust capacity at full throttle.
