here it is, this could possibly be THE FIRST SP in the USA!!! I'll take better photos tomorrow then drop the head off at the machinist to get magged then it's off to get it flowbenched. This head looks to be in virgin condition, stock everything and still lots of metal.

 :wow:

:thanks: MARTIN!!!

What a coincidence! Leroy picked up a couple of 221s today...

It looks as though the casting sand is wetter than the Aussie heads, or maybe a different consistency. The moulding pattern around the guide bosses in the ports is far better than Oz/US, but the lipping below the seat about the same.

Got valves to bench it with? Go 600 thou at least - it'll be interesting to see some trends vs stock (I can understand if you keep mum about the actual numbers).

Cheers, Adam.

I am very surprised to see that the manifold shows the carb mounts with both barrels parrallel to the engine in the same way a four barrel would be mounted with the two primaries. This is in the opposite direction the Aussie 2V carb is mounted.
I ask then, whats the issue with fuel dispersion on a Aussie 2V head moded to suit the four barrel? I always assumed part of the problem was the two primaries would be in the wrong position?

US valves shoot straight no muss no fuss so I'll need to pick up a set before it goes into the shop for flowbenching. I'm really interested to know how well the SP flows on the exhaust side. I'll base my turbo choice from the exhaust flow number.

My hope is about 200rwhp with a US 250 block, custom turbo cam, intercooled turbo and forged pistons. Anything over 200rwhp is just icing. I'd like to go with a CFI unit also, but that's second phase along with the Gear Vendors unit.

When is the next Falcon meet HotrodBob?

Cheers,
db

The next Falcon meeting is 6:PM Sept. 13 at the Wienerschnitzel on SanFernando Road in Burbank. We hit 100 members so this is a milestone. general business meeting and cruz night. I'll PM you the last news letter.

The third picture showing the valve guide shaft and the exhaust and intake valve seats, looks like one scary, weird Martian!?

Looks great...Hope you run it soon. Viva Argentina!

If they both were designed to run 2v synchronous carbs wouldn't either way work?

Bless ya, DBzOkole, you got it going on!
Yee hoooo!

The Aussie and Argie face off, in a fight to win the hearts and minds of American 200 and 250 owners.

KICK SOME A$$!

Right on Dennis. I remember looking at that head at Martin's house. I hope you get around to the CFI setup. I was working on the same thing when I called it quits... If you need any spare parts let me know.

Any idea for a turbo manifold? I'd love to see you build a nice 6-1 manifold out of steel weld-els. Almost makes me want to pick up another head when I go back in Oct ;)

Don't some of the 188s run a rig like this? Imagine triples!

Purple's a bit "ricey".

whoa, 50mm F.I. ADDO man, dems are huge!

X - I've started taking measurements of the two intakes and if I can get a hold of a 2V head I'll take photos of the ports too. I've stole some Play Doh from my kids so I can measure the intake runners and get the approximate volume of the runners.

Inliner -I've found a fabricator who will make the turbo header and once I get the flow number I'll decide which of the two turbos I have will be used for the project. I'd like to get the CFI going for sure, I've been warned of its drawbacks but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Dennis,
How much wider is the Argie intake over the Aussie? It looks to be wider in the pictures, and I was wondering about clearence issues of the wider intake as I only have about 1/2 room before the shock tower?
I do like the longer intake runners, the Argie does look to be a better design, let us know what the flow numbers are, also can you flow a Aussie 2V while your at it?

Here are photos of the measurements. If I had larger digital calipers I could have a more exact reading but these pics show that they are "about" the same.

Dennis,
Thanks, it's looks like from your picturs assuming the tape is in the same spot on both intakes? Looks like the Argie is about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wider?
I'd have trouble clearing that on my 68 Mustang shock tower.

How about carb plenum depth?

It looks like the argie intake has a greater volume than the 2V..

It all looks very nice, but I think it's a bit rediculous to put 1 carb on a 6cyl, after all, this is 2003!!!
Forgive me, Adam, if I'm being ignorant, but wouldn't this fit much better?

http://antiques-internet.com/california ... /IP523.htm

I really like 6cyls, I like them so much I want to convert all my cars to inline sixes, but not running 1 carb!!
Oh well, one of these days I'll have the money to put my dreams into reality... :(

And YES, I know money is an issue, I probably know that more than anyone...
