Great to see you again LowRider.

Yep, triple Webers will do. Sort of like this one....Hotrod Bill's

or this one in a Taunus

ah yeah triples are cool, but I'd much rather drive the car and enjoy owning it than tinker with the setup every weekend. That's the reason for the CFI, once it gets dialed in it hopefully stays dialed in for the long haul.

ah c'mon Lowrider it's all good brah.

the software business has me working 12-14 hour days(it's fine I charge hourly) plus kids and wife keeps me waaay occupied. I'm hoping congress can change from 24 hour days to 48 hour days.

Ah, yes, I know exactly what you mean...
I've been spending my days coding lately, difference is that I DON'T get paid for it!!!
That way I'll never get my 250ci EFI...

*sigh*

DBzOkole- Hello this is John in San Antonio (no, not that John, the other John with the second Argie head) mine is a ME and the intakes look identical except that the carb mounts at a right angle to the engine. I have both 32/36 and 38/38 webers so I can see which will give better performance/economy/etc. The engine is almost completely assembled and I hope to drop it in the car in the next month or so when the weather cools off. Will follow up with pictures.

yeah brah, I remember the photos of your engine that Inliner posted. I was jealous then and still somewhat jealous to this day. I want my engine finished soooooon and have all the "stuff" working and sorted out.

Please post pics, there aren't many of us Argie owners here in US.

By the way, can you list your engine setup, tranny and rear end gear?

Cheers.

Hi guys, I purchased John's (a.k.a. inliner) me head, sp intake and me cast iron exhaust manifolds and I'm in the process of installing them on my ranchero. I'm in the middle of moving the right motor mount ahead 2 1/2" and the alternator pivot point out 4" due to the front exhaust manifold 'being in the way'. I do believe this is the only argie head in Canada at this time. Once I get this sorted out I'll see about trying to post some pictures. Bye for now Paul.
P.S. Now the carb is 'in touch' with the export brace, so more engineering to reposition, carb/export brace etc.etc. Paul.

Hey RancheroMan,

can ya tell me how that T-5 and 3.08 gears works for ya. I'm doing about the same on my '63 Ranchero. I'm adding a 200 that's been warmed over a bit. Are ya still running an 8 1/2" clutch? I will be and just wonder how it works.

Thanks,

Rancheroman-
Is that a 200 or 250 you plan on using with the ME head?

Hey Guys, I'll answer your questions in order
1. The T5 and 3.08 rear gear works ok for me. I don't use 5th gear till 65 mph. otherwise the stock 170 engine will not 'pull' overdrive. I'm using a 9" clutch. If you go to 'Driveline and Suspension' and scroll down the 'sticky' re 4 speed tranny install help, it lists everything I did to covert my auto to stick. In the spring of this year I redrilled the bellhousing and machined the front trans bearing cover to accept a 90's 4 cylinder mustang T5. I also fabricated a new trans crossmember and lenghtened the driveshaft.
2. I'm installing the me head on the 170 right now. I drive this truck everyday so I don't want to 'put it down' for any extended period of time. I hope to have a the changes completed by the end of this week, so I can get this vehicle up and running asap. I have a 200 and 250 engine so I plan on rebuilding one of these and then switching the cylinder head over when I install the engine, hopefull in the new year. Thats all for now Paul.

Just dredging this one up again...

Been chewing over Ben's clearance question. The Argentinian head is narrower than the Aussie one, IIRC, at the port flanges. The manifold is wider, so the net result is about equal. So, Mr Mustangaroo, it may fit after all!

Any of you guys been out to check Leroy's crate of 221 toys?

Adam.

Addo,

You're absolutely right, the SP and 2V is the same width, I'll take photos one of these days and also post flow numbers when I get some time to take the head to the shop. Family stuff and work lately, no time for any engine/car stuff.

Dennis
