Does this stay or go?

Should have looked at it closer

That's the for the coolant, it's not a vacuum hookup.

Hey Al, you may still want to cut it off, the water is just to heat the intake up which may help with better MPG, but cutting if off will keep your intake cooler and a colder intake charge means more horse power! The intake below has the water plug cut off and will not be used, for this 4V converison!

The water is to regulate the "charge" temperature. Australia almost never gets cold enough to consider it a heating device. To the best of my knowledge, the intake was designed here, for our conditions.

I can say from my own experience that it runs much more happily with the water on than off. But what would I know?

ADDO,
You may well be right but here in central California where I live and drive in the winters (3 months) the lows are about 40* and the summers (6 months) run 80* to 110*, don't think I need the extra heater on the intake, besides what do you think my headders are for?

That's funny cause a couple of subjects below it says "Running really poor when cold".

LOL

At the same time I'm not going to run my heater hoses through the intake either.

LOL

I got my engine dropped in about 3 weeks ago but fell ill with some lower back problems and haven't been able to work on it since. I just can't wait to hear it purr.

On that adapter, which set of holes does the carb use? Also, is that pic showing the carb mounted with the bowls front-back or side-side. In other words, are the butterflies parallel or perpendicular to the crank?

Thanks

Al,
My Holley 4V uses the outer holes, but it depends on the carb used, I'm going to use a square bore 4V and the butter fly is front to back, my son's quadrojet 4V is mounted with the primaries closest to the head.

After looking at everthing I decided that there may be little difference mounting it one way or the other for fuel distrubition! But with my 1968 Mustang if I mount it any other way the carb won't clear the shock tower..
I'll let everyone know if theres any problems mounting it this way as we will have one mounted both ways on Aussie 2V head's to compare results.
