basic newb questions...

Hey guys, i was just wondering maybe this info is in an old post someone can direct me to, but say your basic 66 6 cylinder coupe like mine what kind of numbers are we dealing with here. stock horsepower output. gear ratio in the rear end, rear end size. transmission types is it a c4 that ford used to back up the 6 cylinders b/c it looks simliar to all of my sbf stuff just differnt starter mounting location on the bell housing. idk just basic newb questions but im trying to see what i have to work with.. if you guys can direct me to this stuff it'd be greatly appreciated thanks!

Hey! My mustang's name is Sally. =) In any case, '66 200 with an automatic transmission? C4 I'd say. I don't know the ratios or HP, but it's something I've been interested in finding out myself, so maybe someone will enlighten us. =)
 
These numbers are all off the top of my head, but they should be *close*.

The stock HP for my '65 was 127. But this is a gross number and not "net". If you take the gross HP minus the "taxable" HP liisted in the factory service manual the difference or net is 93 (or something very similar).

The rear-end is known as a 7-1/4". The gears in my car are 2.54:1. I think was was the lowest number listed in the factory manual. FoMoCo also made 2.80:1 gears (I have a rear end with this ratio waiting to be installed in my car). Some of the other ratios talked about here are 3.00:1 and 3.20:1.

FWIW, if I was you, I would buy a factory service manual. This, plus a bunch of other info is in there.
