I read in the F6 Perf. handbook that a good source for this install was by Jacobs, referenced as "The Doctors Step by Step Guide to Optimizing your Ignition", but I couldn't locate it. Instead I found & bought another book by Jacobs called Performance Ignition Systems...anyone heard of it and is it to complex for a novice like myself????? Just lookin at it, seems kind of technical for me,,,but he says if your just wanting to get it running, chapters 3 and 6 are all you need??? Chapter six does discuss the DSII setup a bit, but for V8's not a six...is there considerable difference?

Comments, suggestions....directions---all appreciated,

thanx

The Jacobs book you got is a minimally revised and updated version of the "Doctor's Guide..." Yes, he really gives you the bare bones of maximizing the ignition in those two chapters.
There are other interesting parts in the book too, like how he tested all his new developments in his Camaro with real-time data on four-lane streets in LA. And how he paid for his college, all the way to the PhD, working nights and weekends at a service garage -- even while he had a wife and kid. Whew!
But hey, too much information is never enough.

I still have close to 2 dozen of the original "Dr's Guides" in old stock. If anyone is interested send me an email.

Some years ago I was a distributor for Jacobs products. This is back when Dr. Jacobs still owned Jacobs Electronics out of Midland, TX. I still have books coils, wires ect. It is a long story but the short of it was problems with customer service and the lack of time to pursue it so I converted it all to personal use and got out of the business.

How about posting some of the swag to us here? I could go for wires and a coil or spark box or a dizzy or something.

I will try to find the time to put together a simple image and provide a link that will show graphics and descriptions of what I have left over. Between house repairs, overtime at work, kids homework, paying the bills you know the usual stuff.
