Went to the track Thurs, the Maverick went it's best "no nitrous" time. It went a 10.98 (1/8) It had been 9.90 with a 60hp shot. This thing was all stock, 2.79 gears, let it shift on it's own, around 3800rpm. Friday came home, popped the motor out, and getting it ready for a late model roller 302. I've owned this car since 1981, and it's has always a six, kinda sad to change it, but it is no longer my everyday driver, so time to change it.
Don't worry, the six went to good use, it is now in my (I mean my daughter's) 75 Comet, other than a little rust and two rods out of it, this car is about perfect. 61,000 miles, garage kept, until the last owner had it for the last five years.
